2020 is finally over and 2021 is here. Our Week 8 national top-25 rankings are in and we have a couple new programs making their first appearance in our rankings this season.
The holiday tournaments and showcases are over and the second half of the 2020-2021 high school season will begin for a few teams around the country. Also, a few top-25 programs will be beginning their 2020-2021 high school season this month. Below you can check out our latest top-25 update.
***High School programs competing as 'club' teams with identical rosters are being treated like a standard high schools.
1. Montverde Academy (FL) (10-0)
Montverde Academy will take their 35-game winning streak into the first NIBC meeting this weekend in Springfield, Virginia at the NIBC St. James Invitational. The Eagles have a major matchup coming up against #2 Sunrise Christian (KS) on Saturday night.
2. Sunrise Christian (KS) (5-0)
Sunrise Christian will play their first game this weekend since December 15th at the NIBC St. James Invitational in Springfield, Virginia. The Buffaloes will have a monster matchup against #1 Montverde Academy (FL) this Saturday night.
3. IMG Academy (FL) (8-0)
The Ascenders defeated Lake Highland Prep (FL) this past weekend to improve to an 8-0 overall record. IMG Academy is expected to host the two games this week in Bradenton, Florida before they head to Springfield, Virginia for the St. James Invitational next week.
4. Compass Prep (AZ) (13-0)
AZ Compass Prep will be playing in their first game this week since December 12th. The Dragons will face iSchool Lewisville (TX) in the Big West Shootout.
5. Wasatch Academy (UT) (11-0)
The Tigers are expected to play in the NIBC St. James Invitational this weekend in Springfield, Virginia where they are expected to face #21 La Lumiere (IN), #9 Oak Hill Academy (VA), and Bishop Walsh in three days.
6. Coronado (NV) (1-0)
Coronado is expected to hit the court this month for the first time since their game against Sierra Canyon (CA) back in early November. The Cougars are expected to play St. John Bosco (CA) in California on January 10th.
7. Minnehaha Academy (MN) (1-0)
Minnehaha Academy is expected to begin their 2020-2021 high school season this month with their first game coming on January 16th.
8. Sierra Canyon (CA) (0-1)
The Trailblazers will be heading to Dallas, Texas this weekend for a matchup with #14 Ypsi Prep Academy (MI) as part of the Battle Basketball Showcase. This will be their first game since their lost back in early November to #6 Coronado (NV)
9. Oak Hill Academy (VA) (7-0)
Oak Hill Academy will be playing their first game this weekend in Springfield, Virginia at the NIBC St. James Invitational. This will be the Warriors first contest since early November. They will have two big games against #5 Wasatch Academy (UT) and #15 Legacy Early College (SC).
10. Duncanville (TX) (13-0)
Duncanville enters our top-10 national rankings for the first time this season and have improved to a 13-0 overall record after their win over Waco Midway (TX) this past weekend. The Panthers will have a big road game this week against Waxahachie (TX).
11. West Oaks Academy (FL) (9-3)
West Oaks Academy moves up ten spots after capturing the Beach Ball Classic Winter Jam bracket championship over #12 Combine Academy (NC) this past week. The Flame will play again this week against Carolina Basketball Academy (GA) and Florida High (FL).
12. Combine Academy (NC) (14-2)
Combine Academy holds their spot at number twelve in our latest top-25 national rankings. The Goats defeated top-25 ranked St. Frances Academy (MD) in the semifinals of the Beach Ball Classic Winter Jam but took a lost to #11 West Oaks Academy (FL) in the championship game last week.
13. St. Frances Academy (MD) (9-1)
The Panthers took their first lost of the season last week at the Beach Ball Classic Winter Jam to #12 Combine Academy (NC). St. Frances Academy will not play again until the St. James Invitational in Springfield, Virginia next week.
14. Ypsi Prep Academy (MI) (2-2)
Ypsi Prep Academy expected to play their first game this weekend since their win in Houston, Texas at the Holiday Hoopfest in early December. The Ball Boys are facing #8 Sierra Canyon (CA) in Dallas, Texas at the Battle Basketball Showcase.
15. Legacy Early College (SC) (8-1)
The Lions will be playing their first game this weekend since early December in Springfield, Virginia at the NIBC St. James Invitational. Legacy Early College is expected to play against #9 Oak Hill Academy (VA), Hamilton Heights (TN), and a rematch with #2 Sunrise Christian (KS).
16. Prolific Prep (CA) (17-3)
Prolific Prep will be back in action this weekend in Phoenix, Arizona at the Grind Session bubble. The Crew are riding a 10-game winning streak going into the bubble.
17. Milton (GA) (12-2)
The Milton Eagles, out of Alpharetta, Georgia, make their first appearance in our national top-25 rankings after capturing the loaded Beach Ball Classic championship last week. The Eagles have established themselves as the number one team in Georgia right now. They will play again this week against Cherokee (GA) and Etowah (GA).

18. Camden (NJ) (0-0)
The Panthers are expected to begin their season this month and are one of the top programs in the state of New Jersey as their 2020-2021 high school season begins. Their schedule though has yet to be confirmed.
19. DeMatha Catholic (MD) (0-0)
DeMatha Catholic is expected to play their first game of the 2020-2021 high school season on January 13th against St. Mary's Ryken (MD). The Stags are also expected to play in the NIBC St. James Invitational next weekend.
20. Long Island Lutheran (NY) (0-0)
Long Island Lutheran has still not finalized their schedule for the 2020-2021 high school season but they are expected to be able to begin their season this month.
21. La Lumiere (IN) (0-0)
La Lumiere will begin their 2020-2021 high school season this weekend in Springfield, Virginia at the NIBC St. James Invitational. The Lakers are expected play #1 Montverde Academy (FL), #5 Wasatch Academy (UT), and Bishop Walsh (MD) during the first weekend.
22. Dream City Christian (AZ) (10-4)
Dream City Christian will be back in action this week in the Grind Session bubble out in Phoenix, Arizona.
23. Calvary Christian (FL) (8-3)
Calvary Christian, out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, makers their first appearance in our national top-25 rankings after reaching the loaded Beach Ball Classic championship game. The Eagles are an extremely talented group and have earned their spot in our top-25. The Eagles will play again this week against St. Andrew's (FL).

24. Westtown School (PA) (0-0)
Westtown School is expected to begin their season next week and are expected to play #3 IMG Academy (FL), #4 Compass Prep (AZ), and Paul VI (VA) at the St. James Invitational in Springfield, Virginia on MLK weekend.
25. The Patrick School (NJ) (0-0)
The Celtics are expected to begin their 2020-2021 high school season this month in the state of New Jersey. The Patrick School could begin their season ranked in our top-25 national rankings. Their schedule has yet to be finalized and confirmed.
