The Circuit just celebrated our 10th year of grassroots basketball coverage, and our team is thrilled to announce an innovative new approach in the world of individual player rankings.

For the past 10 seasons, our media team has carved our own path in the grassroots basketball media space, primarily focusing on covering the nation’s top programs and players from the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL), adidas 3 Stripes Select Basketball (3SSB), Under Armour Association (UAA), and elite independent circuits from across the country. During the high school season, our coverage primarily focuses on the top 100-125 teams from across the country - encompassing the same elite prospects, which results in a year-round, in-depth look at the best basketball players in America.

During our time covering the sport, we have uncovered a systemic problem with the way most player rankings are formulated; simply put, there isn’t a transparent process in which prospects are evaluated.

Our player ranking team is led by a group of basketball experts with 50+ years of combined experience. This includes former NBA players, NBA front office members, and current nationally-renowned grassroots basketball talent evaluators.

This team has a single goal; remove subjectivity and bias from player rankings by establishing a data-driven approach to evaluating individual domestic and international basketball prospects.

Starting today, our rankings will be presented in tiers by each individual graduating class. The top 30 players will be ranked in order 1-through-30 - taking into account a number of different factors, including offense, defense, recruiting, strength of schedule, and more.

On top of our new tiered rankings format, we will be introducing a Top 10 regardless-of-class rankings. This subset of rankings will narrow down the top 10 future professionals at the next three graduating classes.

The following different evaluation subsets: Offensive Skill-Set, Defensive Skill-Set, Current Recruitment, Statistical Data, Strength of Schedule, Eye Test, Pro Potential, Intangibles, Rankings Composite, & Current Accolades.

After the top 30 players, our rankings will be structured in a tier-based system. Prospects will be grouped alphabetically in three separate tiers:

2024

  • Tier 1 (1-50)
  • Tier 2 (51-100)
  • Tier 3 (101-150)

2025

  • Tier 1 (1-50) - alphabetically
  • Tier 2 (51-100) - alphabetically
  • Tier 3 (101-150) - alphabetically

2026

  • Top 10
  • Tier 1 (11-25) - alphabetically
  • Tier 2 (25-50) - alphabetically
