After a season that saw them only win two games in the country’s toughest league in the NIBC, Coach BJ Jackson and Legacy Early College in Greenville, SC have brought in some reinforcements to this year’s roster.
Look out for extremely strong and rugged big man Terry Copeland Jr. to give this year’s Legacy Early College team a much needed edge and toughness, particularly on the interior. Also transferring in, and providing an upgrade in guard play is a guy who can light it up from deep in Cole Hansen
Looking to provide a dominant presence in the frontcourt for Legacy Early College is immediate impact transfer and 6’9” physically strong and powerful big man, Terry Copeland Jr. A force to be reckoned with in the paint, the physically empowering Copeland uses his strength in combination with his physicality to let his presence be known. Providing a balanced inside-out scoring attack for the Lions, Copeland is a guy that can score in the low post and finish through contact around the basket as well provide some an ability to step out to the three point line and shoot it from time to time. In the frontcourt, look for 6’3” guard and rising senior Cole Hansen to provide some much added shot making for the Lions. Hansen is a guard that excels both on and off the ball. With the ball in his hands, Hansen is good at getting to his spots off a couple dribbles and settling for mid range pull up jumpers. Off the ball, Hansen is a shooter with deep range who is more than capable of making perimeter shots in a multitude of ways; whether it be off the catch, off the dribble, and off movement. Look for both of these rising seniors to improve on Legacy Early College’s two game win mark in the NIBC and keep this group highly competitive against some of the country’s best basketball programs.
Although losing Coen Carr to graduation is a tough blow to the roster, Coach BJ Jackson brought in some much needed size in the frontcourt and perimeter shot making in the backcourt to add some reinforcements to this year’s Lions roster. Looking to improve upon the up and down season that saw them finish towards the bottom of the NIBC, Legacy Early College is ready to show that they’re one of the most improved teams in the country’s toughest league during the 2023-2024 season.
