Transferring in from Bartlesville (OK) is 4-star point guard and Kansas State pledge David Castillo. Castillo is a true floor general with a high basketball IQ. He looks to set up his teammates but can also score at all three levels. Castillo shoots the ball efficiently from outside the arc. Standing at 6’1” he’s not the biggest guy on the court but makes up for it with his competitive edge. Castillo impacts the game on both ends of the floor. After playing against high level competition on the EYBL circuit and with team USA, he should be in for a smooth transition to the NIBC. Next, coming in from Denton Guyer (TX) is 6’3” 4-star guard Jeremiah Green. Green is a quick-twitch guard that has a great handle. He likes to get downhill and finish around the rim but is also a capable shooter. He’s able to play on or off the ball so we may see both Green and Castillo handling the point guard duties for Sunrise Christian. Also joining the Buffaloes is 6'9" wing/forward Miikka Muurinen out of Finland. Muurinen is an extremely intriguing prospect that has been lighting it up this summer in FIBA U16 play. He’s a fluid athlete with a lot of length that can really do it all. Muurinen can score both inside and outside and maybe the most fascinating part of his game is his ability to handle the ball at 6’9”. He’s able to create his own shot and has a nice stroke from three-point range. Defensively, Muurinen has a knack for blocking shots. Playing at Sunrise Christian he will get a lot more exposure and will definitely be a name to look out for. Muurinen already has a handful of high major offers and I can see him pushing for 5-star status in the near future. Remember the name, Miikka Muurinen.  

Head coach Kyle Lindsted will have his hands full this season with a completely new roster but he has brought in the right guys to star for this new look Sunrise Christian team. Playing in the NIBC is a grueling task but once the new guys click, they will be a tough team to beat. After finishing in the middle of the pack last year, Linsted will look to take the next step and compete for the top spot in the loaded NIBC.
